How to play

How to play Sushi Go, in brief

Each round of Sushi Go! works the same way: keep one card from your hand, pass the rest along, and repeat until the cards run out. Dishes score after each of the 3 rounds, and the highest total wins.

  1. Deal a handDeal 10 cards each with 2 players, 9 with 3, 8 with 4 and 7 with 5.
  2. Pick one, pass the restEveryone picks a card at the same time and lays it face down. Reveal together, then pass your hand left.
  3. Use the helpersWasabi boosts your next nigiri. Chopsticks let you take 2 cards on a later turn: call “Sushi Go!”, then put the chopsticks in your hand to pass on.
  4. Score, then deal againScore your dishes and clear them away, but keep your puddings. After round 3, puddings score and the game ends.
How a round scores

Every dish scores its own way.

At the end of each round, everyone lays out the cards they kept and scores them dish by dish. Then the cards go, except the puddings: those stay in front of you until the game is over.

Sushi Go Party! changes some of this: tied players take the full maki and pudding points instead of splitting them, you need at least one maki card to score maki, and the dishes change from game to game.
