Tabletales isn’t social media. There’s no public feed, nothing you save is ever posted to the open internet, and we never sell your data or use it for ads. Here’s exactly who can see what, and how you steer it.
A night only ever reaches someone one step from the table: you were there, or you’ve played a game night with someone who was. Strangers can’t reach your memories at all. Whether a night you can reach actually opens for you, or you just see that it exists, is set by the night itself (below), and opening one never chains someone onward to other nights they weren’t part of.
Think of them as your front door and each night’s door.
This is only about your profile page: when a friend you’ve played with opens it, do they see the nights you’ve saved, or just the ones you shared together? Open (the default) shows your game-night history to your crew. Private shows them only the nights you both attended. It never changes who can open a night, just what your page lists.
Every night has its own setting, and you pick a default for new ones. Open: friends of the people at the table can view it. Locked: it still appears in histories, but only the people who were there can open it. Hidden: just the people who were there, and no one else even knows it exists.
Always, forever. Everyone at the table keeps full access to the photos, scores, and roster, no matter what any setting says.
Anyone who’s played a game night with someone who was there can open an Open night. On a Locked night they’ll see it listed but can’t open it; a Hidden night they never see at all.
Nothing. If you haven’t shared a table with anyone who was there, the night doesn’t exist for you.
Comments and reactions stay at the table. Even on an Open night, only the people who were there see who commented or reacted.
Counts, not contents. A friend browsing your Open profile can see how many nights and games you’ve logged, but never the private ones’ photos, scores, or details.
You’re still in the nights you attend. If you played at someone else’s Open night, your name and score are part of that memory, the way you’d appear in a friend’s photo album. Going Private hides your profile; it doesn’t erase you from their night.
Who controls a night? The person who created it (whoever first saved it). Everyone who was at the table can edit the night’s games, scores, players, and photos, it’s a shared memory. But only its creator can change who’s allowed to see it, or delete it, so no one can quietly re-open a night you chose to keep close. And if you’d rather not see a night in your own timeline, you can remove it from yours without touching anyone else’s.
No public feed. No selling your data. No ads. No posting anything to the open internet. Tabletales is a keepsake for your table, not a place to perform for strangers.
