Tabletales is a cozy, private keepsake for your board-game nights, not social media and not a leaderboard. This policy explains, in plain language, what we keep, why, and the control you have over it. Tabletales is operated by Comet & Clover Labs.
The plain-English promises. The full detail follows below, and How privacy works shows who can see each night.
Tabletales (operated by Comet & Clover Labs LLC) provides the Tabletales mobile app. If you have questions about this policy or your data, reach us at admin@tabletales.gg.
We only collect what the app needs to do its job, remember your game nights and let you share them with the people who were there.

| Product usage | Which screens you open, which buttons you tap, when you open the app (iPhone or Android, and the app’s version), and how signing in went: the method you chose and, if it didn’t work, a short code such as “cancelled” or “no connection”. Before you sign in, this is tied to a random ID your phone makes when Tabletales is installed; when you sign in, that ID is linked to your account, so we can see how people get from installing the app to their first night, whether they saved it, claimed it from an invite or were added to it by a friend. Signing out starts a fresh random ID. We use this only for analytics, to see which features are used and what to improve. It never includes what you save or type: no memory content, names, emails, passwords, scores, photos, comments, or error messages, and no screen recording. From version 1.2.1 on, location lookup is switched off, so it carries no location. It is never used for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites: Tabletales has no advertising SDKs and doesn’t use your phone’s advertising identifier, so it never asks for permission to track. |
| Website visits (tabletales.gg) | Our website, not the app, uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, the link or search that brought a visitor, clicks such as the App Store button or a score sheet download, and the browser, device type, and approximate region (worked out from the IP address, which Google Analytics does not store). It sets first-party cookies so a returning browser isn’t counted twice. We use it only to see which pages help people and to improve the site. Advertising features and Google signals are off, so it’s never used for ads or to follow you across other sites. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the site doesn’t load it at all; for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland it sets no analytics cookies. Nothing you save in the app is ever sent to it. |
Invitations are user-initiated and one-time. A text is sent only after you enter a recipient's number and confirm a preview of the message. We pass the number to our SMS provider to deliver that single message and do not retain it. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. The full messaging program terms (program name, frequency, rates, support, and opt-out) are in our Terms of Service. Message and data rates may apply.
No mobile information is sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and messaging consent are used solely to deliver the invitation you requested.
When you report something. We see what you reported, the reason you picked, any note you add, and who sent it, so we can look into it and act. We never tell the person you reported who reported them. Our moderation tools show us only what has been reported, never a way to browse people's nights.
When you block someone. Blocks are private: the person you block isn't told, and only you can see your Blocked list, in You → Privacy, where you can unblock anyone. Our tools show us how many people have blocked an account, which helps us notice someone who is bothering people.
Once you block someone, neither of you sees the other's comments or reactions, you stop seeing the photos they add, and you get no notifications about each other. They can't add you to a night, link a guest to your account, find you, or see your profile, and neither of you can see or open a night the other is on, unless you were both there.
Nights you already shared stay whole in both your memories: the people, the games, and the scores. They keep every photo from those nights, yours included. You can remove any shared night from your memories, and a friend can still put you both on a night you were really at.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so your memories are there when you come back. When you delete a memory or your account, the associated data is removed from our systems, apart from limited records we may need to keep for legal or security reasons. Reports are among those records: we keep each one, with its copy of what was reported, as a record of what we reviewed and what we did, even after the item or an account is deleted. A block ends when either account is deleted.
Tabletales isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, surface it in the app. Continuing to use Tabletales after a change means you accept the updated policy.
