How to score Dixit
Dixit scores after every turn. If some players find the storyteller’s card but not all, the storyteller and each of those players score 3. If everyone finds it, or nobody does, the storyteller scores 0 and everyone else 2. Every other player also scores 1 for each vote on their own card. The game ends after the turn in which someone reaches 30.

Dixit

- 30 min
A storytelling game of dreamlike picture cards. The storyteller gives a clue for one card, everyone else slips in a card that might fit, and the table votes on which was the storyteller’s. A clue that is too plain, or too strange, scores nothing.

How to play Dixit, in brief
Each turn of Dixit, one player gives a clue for a picture card and everyone else tries to spot it among decoys. When a turn ends with anyone on 30 or more, most points wins.
- Deal 6 cards eachEveryone takes a voting dial and a rabbit for the score track. Whoever thinks of a clue first is the first storyteller.
- Give a clueThe storyteller picks a card in secret and says a clue: a word, a sentence, even a sound. Each other player secretly hands over their best match.
- VoteThe storyteller shuffles the cards and lays them face up in numbered spots. Everyone else votes in secret for the storyteller’s card, never their own.
- Score and pass it onScore the turn and draw back up to 6. The player on the left tells the next story.
The best clue is found by some, not all.
The storyteller wants a clue that some players get and some miss. Everyone else wants to find the storyteller’s card, and to draw votes onto their own. Score the turn as soon as the votes are revealed.

Dixit scoring, answered
- How does scoring work in Dixit?
- If some but not all players find the storyteller’s card, the storyteller and each finder score 3. If everyone or nobody finds it, the storyteller scores 0 and the others 2. Each player also scores 1 per vote on their own card.
- How many points do you need to win Dixit?
- In the current rules the game ends after the turn in which someone reaches 30, and the highest total wins. Some other printings end the game when the deck runs out instead.
- What happens if everyone guesses the storyteller’s card in Dixit?
- The clue was too easy: the storyteller scores 0 and every other player scores 2. The same happens when nobody finds the card.

This page follows Libellud’s current rules, which end at 30. Some printings end the game when the last card is drawn instead, and sources disagree on which edition does which. BoardGameGeek lists 3 to 6 players for the 2008 box; Libellud’s current edition plays up to 8. With 3 players, each voter puts in 2 cards.
