Rummikub score sheet
A Rummikub score sheet keeps one line per game. When a player empties their rack, everyone else scores the tiles left on theirs as a minus, a joker costing 30, and the winner scores their total as a plus, so every game adds up to zero. Play the number of rounds you agreed.

How to play Rummikub, in brief
Rummikub is rummy with numbered tiles: empty your rack into runs and groups, rearranging the table to fit yours in. First to play their last tile wins the game.
- Take 14 tilesMix the tiles face down. Each player takes 14 for their rack; the rest are the pool.
- Know your setsA group is 3 or 4 of one number in different colors; a run is 3 or more numbers in order in one color. A joker can be any tile.
- Open with 30Your first play must be sets from your own rack whose numbers total at least 30.
- Play or drawAfter that, add to the table and rearrange its sets freely, as long as each is whole when you finish. If you play nothing, draw a tile. Your last tile ends the game: call Rummikub.
The winner collects what everyone else is still holding.
A game of Rummikub stops the moment someone plays the last tile from their rack. Tiles already on the table count for nobody: only the racks are scored, and the winner’s plus is everyone else’s minus.
What a tile left on your rack costs
| Tile | Points |
|---|---|
| Number tiles, 1 to 13A red 12 left on your rack costs 12 | Face value |
| JokerCaught on your rack, whatever tile it could have stood for | 30 |

- Stop at RummikubA game ends when a player plays the last tile from their rack and calls Rummikub.
- Count every other rackEach other player adds up the tiles left on their rack at face value, a joker for 30, and scores that as a minus.
- Pay the winnerThe winner scores the total of everyone else’s racks as a plus, so the game adds up to zero.
- If the pool runs dryWhen the pool is empty and nobody can play, the lowest rack wins the game. Each other player scores the gap between their rack and the winner’s as a minus, and the winner collects the sum.
- Play the rounds you agreedOn the official sheet a round is one game per player, so three games for three players. The most games won takes it, and the highest total breaks a tie.
Game 6: Mara goes out, and you are caught with the joker.
Mara plays her last tile. Dev still holds a 7, a 4 and a 12, and you are stuck with a joker, a 9 and a 1. This is hand 6 on the Scorepad above, where your minus is typed as a sum.
| Player | Tiles left on the rack | Game |
|---|---|---|
| You | Joker · 9 · 1-30 - 9 - 1 | −40 |
| Mara | Went outThe other racks: 40 + 23 | 63 |
| Dev | 7 · 4 · 12-7 - 4 - 12 | −23 |
Every game comes to zero, and the pad shows it.

Tables differ on the overall winner: the official sheet counts games won, others take the highest total after the agreed rounds or play to a target score. When the pool runs out, Wikipedia, which follows a 1998 American edition, gives the game to the fewest tiles rather than the lowest rack, and a few tables charge 25 for a joker. Rummikub XP seats 5 or 6. Rules checked on 19 October 2026 against the official Rummikub rules, Wikipedia and gamerules.com.
