A page for every game
Tap a game anywhere in Tabletales (on a night, a score card, a friend's profile or your stats) and it opens the game's own page.
At the top are the cover and the facts from BoardGameGeek: the year, the player count, its BGG rank, how long it plays, its weight, and a description. Then comes the part that is yours:
- Who you play it with. Everyone who has shared this game with you. Tap a name to open their profile.
- Your history with it. How many times you have played it, on how many nights, and how many of those you won.
- The high score. Who holds it, and what it is. For a game where the lowest score wins, it shows the best score instead.
- The nights. Every night the game came out, with the date and the place. Tap one to open that night again.
Playing something BoardGameGeek doesn't list, like a family game or one you invented? Keep it as your own custom game. It gets the same history, just without a cover or a rank.
Share one play
On a game's page, each night you played in has a share button. It turns that play into a picture, with who played and the scores, ready for the group chat. It goes only where you send it.
Your table: the quiet stats
On the You tab, tap Stats. This is your table, in a few calm numbers:
- Nights remembered, with your total game nights and games played.
- The games you keep coming back to. Your most-played games, and how many times you have played each.
- Who you remember it with. The people you have shared the most nights with, in plain words: "You and Mara have shared 12 nights."
- Nights to remember. Your best score in each game you play.
- A game that gets along with you, and one that keeps you humble. Once you have played a game a few times, Tabletales notices the one you win most often, and the one where wins are rare.
Quiet on purpose
Tabletales is not a leaderboard. There are no percentages, no rankings and no streaks to defend. The stats are there for remembering, and for the moment someone asks who really wins the most, with a grin.
A few rules keep the numbers honest:
- Watching counts as being there, not as playing. If you only watched a game, it stays part of your night, but it does not count as a game you played.
- Co-op games are won together. A cooperative game shows whether the table won or lost, and never counts as one person's win.
- Ties are shared. When players tie for the best total, the trophy goes to all of them.
Built from your nights
Nothing here is typed in twice. The history and the stats come straight from the nights you save. Fix a score in a night, and the game's history and your stats follow.
The more nights you keep, the more each game's page tells you. After a year, it reads like a small story of its own: who you played it with, every night it came out, and who holds the high score.
Your friends' games, and yours
Your Stats screen is just for you. Friends see your profile instead, and you see theirs.
When you open a friend's profile, you see how many game nights and games they have played, and the nights you have shared. If their profile is Open, you also see their top games and more of their nights. If it is Private, you see the games the two of you have shared instead.
Your own profile works the same way. Your crew (the people you have shared a night with) always sees your two totals: game nights and games played. Your profile is Open by default, so they also see your top games and can browse the nights you have saved. Switch it to Private and they see only the nights and games you have shared. Either way, a count never opens a night: seeing how many nights you have played shows nobody the photos, scores or details of a night they cannot open. See how privacy works.
